Pastor James Hyder, Jr.
Rev. James D. Hyder, Jr. serves part-time here at Philadelphia Methodist Church. This is his fourth church, having been initially called to ministry in 2004. He is a lawyer by profession and works full time at his “day job” as General Counsel to a local school district. He is the son of another Methodist Minister, Rev. Jim Hyder and his wife Jane. James has two daughters, Kate and Mattie, two grandsons, and a cantankerous ginger cat named Clyde.
James grew up in Atlanta and Augusta. He graduated from Aquinas High School, received a BBA in Finance from Augusta College, attended law school at Mercer University in Macon, and attended seminary at Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, South Carolina.
